KemperSports to manage two non-golf facilities

KemperSports has added two non-golf facilities to its portfolio, The Spokane Club in Spokane, Wash. and The Inns at St. Albans in St. Albans, Mo.

The Spokane Club is a historic private club with three buildings in two different locations. It is one of the top social and athletic clubs in the city.

“The Spokane Club is excited to partner with KemperSports,” said Board president Chris Bell. “After conducting a nationwide search, it was clear that KemperSports was best suited to provide The Spokane Club members and staff with the leadership and tools to deliver a high-level private club experience.”

Founded in 1890, The Spokane Club is anchored by a downtown Clubhouse that includes a restaurant, bar, event ballroom and 43 hotel rooms. The Clubhouse serves as the business center of the Club and includes meeting and banquet space. Adjacent to the Clubhouse is a fitness facility that offers fitness instruction and equipment, indoor pool and fitness and youth programming. The other location, the Valley Spokane Club, includes indoor and outdoor tennis courts, bocce ball, volleyball and an indoor pool. The family-friendly club offers kids programming and camps.

“The Spokane Club is a great club with a rich history,” said KemperSports CEO Steve Skinner. “We look forward to working with the club board and members to ensure the best possible member experience.”

The Inns at St. Albans is a private event and boutique lodge in the St. Louis market, that is located adjacent to land that overlooks the golf courses at The Country Club of St. Albans, which KemperSports manages.

“We are looking forward to this strategic partnership and the benefits to our investments and the community of St. Albans,” said owner Datra Herzog.

Originally built in 1843, The Inns at St. Albans has seen a number of renovations. It includes, a 100-year-old 6-room European-style bed and breakfast named The Studio Inn, indoor and outdoor restaurant seating and event space for up to 250 guests – with several other event space options to accommodate smaller groups.

The Head’s Store offers indoor and outdoor dining and bar space while serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with a boutique grocery and gift shop. Adjacent to the Old Barn Inn are four newly-built cottages with luxurious overnight accommodations. Each well-appointed cottage includes a double-occupancy bedroom with wood-burning fireplace and private patio.

“The Inns at St. Albans is one of the premier wedding and event destinations in the market,” said KemperSports CEO Steve Skinner. “We look forward to working with ownership to align goals and further enhance the joint offerings at The Inns and The Country Club of St. Albans.”
