Troon Golf has added properties in New England and Florida to its world’s largest total of more than 200 managed properties.
The additions include the 45-hole Black Diamond Ranch community in Lecanto, Fla. Black Diamond, with its award-winning Quarry course, the Ranch course and the nine-hole Highlands course, is Troon’s 11th managed property in Florida.
The Black Diamond Ranch courses were designed by Tom Fazio, and the Quarry course in particular has earned widespread acclaim. It was ranked number six nationwide on Golfweek’s “Best Residential Courses” list for 2009, and number one in Florida.
The Quarry course was built on a former limestone quarry site and features 80-foot cliffs. The Ranch course also features significant elevation changes, rare for Florida, and the nine-hole Highlands course is even higher on the property, offering views of up to 25 miles.
Also joining the Troon portfolio recently was Manchester Country Club, a private facility in Bedford, N.H. The original Donald Ross design was opened in 1923 and is located in a countryside setting with scenic views of the surrounding mountains.
