Billy Casper Golf has finalized a deal to add seven Chicago Park District golf facilities to its management portfolio, giving the company 22 properties in the Chicago metropolitan area.
Casper will direct all activities at the 18-hole Jackson Park Golf Course and five 9-hole facilities: Sydney R. Marovitz, South Shore, Robert A. Black, Columbus Park and Marquette Park. It also will operate the Diversey Driving Range.
Casper officials said the company has agreed to spend $5.5 million over the next 15 years on a wide range of improvements at the facilities.
“Restoring the stature of Chicago’s courses is Billy Casper Golf’s job number one,” said Chairman-CEO Peter Hill.
In addition to the Chicago courses, Casper also has taken over management of Jennings Mill Country Club in Athens, Ga.
The Bob Cupp-designed private course is the site a PGA Tour Qualifying School as well as a Nationwide Tour event. It is owned by Titan Capital Investment Group.
