Billy Casper Golf recently picked up its 11th and 12th golf properties since the start of the year when the City of Troy, Mich., handed over golf operations for its Sanctuary Lake and Sylvan Glen golf courses. The two properties mark Billy Casper’s entry into Michigan, bringing the total courses managed in the Midwest to 41. The Vienna, Va.,-based company also operates multi-course portfolios in Chicago, Cincinnati, Philadelphia, Tulsa, Okla., Knoxville, Tenn., Wilmington, Del., and Westchester County, N.Y.
Billy Casper Golf will oversee all aspects of Sanctuary Lake and Sylvan Glen’s golf course maintenance, staffing and training, merchandising, membership programs, marketing and public relations, golf instruction and special events. Sanctuary Lake is an 18-hole, 6,505-yard, par-71 course that features a full-service practice area comprised of 70 hitting stations with natural and artificial surfaces, eight target greens and two short-game areas — one with a greenside practice bunker. Sylvan Glen is an 18-hole, 6,565 yard, par-70 course that dates to 1922. Both clubhouses have restaurant operations.
