The PGA of Great Britain and Russian real estate investment company OPIN have unveiled plans for a new golf facility just outside Moscow that will include an 18-hole course, golf academy, five-star hotel and marina hotel.
The course and the accompanying PGA National Golf Academy, designed by European Golf Design, will serve as a training ground for Russian PGA professionals as well as a center for Russia’s developing golf population. The project, led by Constantin Zabrodin, deputy general of OPIN, is scheduled for completion in 2011.
In addition to the 7,300-yard championship course, the project’s golf academy will include a 9-hole practice course and extensive practice facilities.
“This is an exciting and world class golf facility and the PGA is delighted to be working with OPIN and playing a part in the promotion and growth of golf in Russia,” said PGA Property and Commercial Director Robert Maxfield.
