Greg Norman has signed to design a new golf club in the Melbourne, Australia, area, with construction expected to begin in the middle of next year.
The Norman course will be the centerpiece for the new Eastern Golf Club location, replacing the club’s current site in Doncaster, which the members have agreed to sell for what is expected to be residential development.
The new Eastern Golf Club course will be located near Croydon, adjacent to the new Yering Meadows Golf Club. Club officials have not decided whether the new club facility will include more than 18 holes, but they have indicated that the new site will include a multi-purpose clubhouse and additional recreation facilities, in order to appeal to families and provide other amenities in addition to golf.
The new course will be Norman’s fourth design in the Victoria territory, joining Sanctuary Lakes, Settlers Run and the Moonah course at The National Golf Club.
