The recently redesigned Blue Shark Golf Club, Greg Norman’s championship golf course located on New Providence Island in Nassau, is expected to reopen in late 2008 or early 2009 as part of a planned $1 billion, mixed-used resort development that will redefine the region.
Plans are also underway for construction of a world-class clubhouse facility to complement the 7,200-yard, 18-hole layout.
The development project, spearheaded by New South Ocean Development Company LTD and its managing director Roger Stein, includes plans for a 1,500-room casino hotel, a five-star boutique hotel and spa, a mega yacht marina, retail outlets and a tennis center.
An undetermined number of residential units will also be developed around the golf course. The 385-acre project is targeted for completion by 2012.
