KemperSports to manage Pottawattomie CC

KemperSports announced today that they have been retained by the Board of Directors to manage Pottawattomie Country Club in Michigan City, Ind, located an hour east of downtown Chicago.

The 18-hole, par-72 championship golf course was designed by Tom Bendelow and opened in 1909. Bendelow is best known for his award-winning designs at all three courses at Medinah Country Club as well as East Lake Golf Club. Bendelow’s routing utilizes minimalist design attributes while highlighting the natural beauty of the terrain.

In addition to golf, the club includes a family-friendly pool with adjacent snack bar, pro shop and a new clubhouse with multiple dining options as well as space for private events and weddings.

“KemperSports is the right partner to lead our club in to the next generation,” said board President Kevin Martin. “As a fellow Midwest company, they share in the similar values of exceptional service and experience that have been instilled at Pottawattomie Country Club.”

KemperSports will be tasked with delivering membership retention and sales programs while leveraging clubhouse utilization for additional social events, weddings and member programming.

“Pottawatommie Country Club is widely recognized as one of the finest family-friendly private clubs in the region,” said KemperSports CEO Steve Skinner. “We look forward to working with membership to ensure the highest levels of service are maintained at their historic club.”

KemperSports’ presence in the region continues to grow as the company also manages Harbor Shores, host of the 2016 Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid, located just 40 minutes north in Benton Harbor, Mich.

Northbrook, Ill.-based KemperSports now manages 124.5 18-hole equivalent courses throughout the United States including Chambers Bay. It is the sixth largest golf management company in the world.
