KemperSports adds 13th new management deal this year

KemperSports added its 13th new management deal this year with the recent addition of Cloverbank Country Club in Hamburg, N.Y. Cloverbank becomes the fourth facility and third private club in New York under KemperSports management, joining the Village Club of Sands Point, Lawrence Yacht & Country Club and Seneca Hickory Stick Golf Course.

As part of its goal to grow membership and improve member engagement, KemperSports plans to revitalize Cloverbank’s programming calendar and bring more community events and live entertainment to members and guests.

“Cloverbank has a storied history, and we are excited to work with new local and committed ownership to revitalize the club and make it a warm, inviting place for members and their guests,” said KemperSports CEO Steve Skinner. “We share the members’ passion for the club and look to enhance and grow the experience for years to come.”

Located just south of Buffalo, Cloverbank’s history dates back to 1956 when Bethlehem Steel purchased 400 acres in Hamburg, N.Y., to create the Bethlehem Management Club. The club was established two years later and opened in 1959 with the debut of an 18-hole, 7,061-yard layout designed by father-son duo William and David Gordon. For many years, the club was solely used as a personal playground for Bethlehem Steel employees and their families. In 1987, the club was sold and renamed Brierwood Country Club, a name it held until 2021 when locally based Southwestern Rogers, LLC acquired and reopened it as Cloverbank Country Club.

In addition to the golf course, Cloverbank also includes a pool, fitness center, bowling alley, banquet facilities and Bobby O’Brian’s, a full-service restaurant open to the public.

In other news from KemperSports: the company announced a new long-term agreement with 3STEP Sports, the leading youth sports event and club team owner in the U.S., to become the exclusive property management and marketing partner for its facilities. As part of the agreement, KemperSports will provide facility management best practices to 3STEP while supporting and attracting additional programming and community outreach to its locations. Both companies are committed to further improving the end-to-end sports experience for millions of youth athletes and delivering experiences that match the overall premier standards set in sports programming, tournaments and brand content.
