Golf Saudi signs memorandum of understanding with Troon

Golf Saudi has unveiled a new partnership with Troon to provide strategic insights for the development of the game across the kingdom. Troon will provide specific counsel on areas such as infrastructure development, agronomy, operational planning and financial best practices. This guidance will form the foundations for the forward-thinking golf program to come, according to Golf Saudi. 

Central to the partnership will be the support Troon provides Golf Saudi in the development of its five core pillars, encompassing access and infrastructure, mass participation, national team and elite development, events and tourism. These pillars are be central Golf Saudi’s plans. 

Golf Saudi says this latest partnership is a statement of intent for what aims to achieve with its dynamic golf development program. 

Unveiled at the inaugural Saudi International powered by SBIA back in February, the first European Tour event to be held in the kingdom and won by former World Number One Dustin Johnson, Golf Saudi intends to transform the golfing landscape in the years ahead, utilizing the game’s wide-reaching benefits for the people of Saudi Arabia. 

“Troon will provide us with valuable insights to help set a new benchmark for golf development through our national golf strategy,” said Majed Al-Sorour, CEO, Saudi Golf Federation. “Their blend of regional expertise, allied with a truly global presence, will allow us to effectively evaluate the implementation of our program.
