ClubLife hires new director of corporate development to expand west

ClubCorp’s third-party management arm, ClubLife Management, has hired a new director of corporate development and continues to pursue and add contracts.

Greg Griffin, a long-time golf pro and general manager, was named Director of Corporate Development and tasked with expanding the portfolio of clubs to the west. He previously worked at Troon Golf and DA Weibring’s Golf Resources Inc. He most recently oversaw the transition of operations and management of Midlothian Country Club in the suburbs of Chicago to ClubLife Management in early 2019.

“We are excited to welcome Greg to his new role,” said Tom Bennison, ClubCorp Chief Development Officer. “He brings a wealth of knowledge about the industry in business development, management services and operations — all of which will be very helpful in bringing the best properties to ClubLife Management.”

Doug Hellman, who was hired away from KemperSports in September 2018, left ClubCorp in late 2019. He had held the position of Managing Director at ClubLife, after nearly 14 years at KemperSports, where he had been senior vice president of business development.

“ClubCorp remains committed to ClubLife Management – which has strong development and management services teams in place – and continues to be dedicated to growing the division and to serving our clients,” said Patty Jerde, Communications Manager at ClubCorp.

ClubLife Management expects to announce a new management deal in Maryland soon, and The Seminole Legacy Golf Club at Florida State University, which ClubLife Management was brought in to oversee the launch of in 2019, will celebrate its grand opening in March.
