ClubCorp acquired its first two Chicago area country clubs this month: Ravinia Green Country Club and Rolling Green Country Club. ClubCorp has plans for a multi-million dollar renovation of Ravinia Green Country Club and a $1.5 million renovation of Rolling Green Country Club, including upgrades to the golf courses, clubhouses and pool complexes at both properties. Acquisition prices have not been disclosed.
Ravinia Green Country Club, previously member-owned, is a private country club in Riverwoods, Illinois, located 30 minutes north of Chicago. It features an 18-hole championship golf course, six outdoor tennis courts and an aquatics complex with three outdoor swimming pools. There is also a clubhouse, upscale and casual dining options, a second-level outdoor terrace, private dining rooms and a ballroom for events.
“Ravinia Green — a world-class golf club in one of the most traveled cities in the country — will serve as the perfect complement to ClubCorp’s portfolio of clubs,” Eric Affeldt said in a press release, ClubCorp president and CEO.
Rolling Green Country Club, in Arlington Heights, Illinois, features an 18-hole, 6,536-yard golf course and practice facilities. The family-friendly country club also has a recreation and fitness center, upscale and casual dining options and a private event space with a capacity of 300.
“We are very excited to be announcing this addition of a second private golf and country club in Chicago and even further expanding our presence in the area, which is quickly becoming one of our key markets,” Affeldt said. “ClubCorp looks forward to building up great traditions of the club, at the heart of the Arlington Heights community for 90 years.”
ClubCorp also owns and operates The Mid-America Club in the Aon Center and The Metropolitan Club in Willis Tower in downtown Chicago.
Members of the newly acquired clubs will have access to ClubCorp’s O.N.E. program, which includes complimentary green fees and dining when traveling to any of ClubCorp’s more than 300 owned or managed private clubs.
The acquisition of these two clubs is part of ClubCorp’s overall portfolio expansion of owned and operated clubs, which currently exceeds 200 clubs in 26 states, Washington D.C., Mexico and China. ClubCorp’s portfolio as increased by more than 35 percent since the company’s initial public offering (IPO) in September 2013.
