BCG selected for New Orleans club

Billy Casper Golf (BCG) has entered an agreement to manage golf operations for English Turn Golf & Country Club in New Orleans.

English Turn’s ownership group has selected BCG as their strategic partner for golf operations, agronomics, sales and marketing. Operations will be locally managed by a professional golf and agronomic team, while also supported by regional and national teams to provide expert guidance and direction.

“Billy Casper Golf and English Turn have created a joint commitment to elevating the golf course programing, events and guest experience,” said Robert Anen, interim general manager. “Given BCG’s advanced industry expertise, we are confident in their ability to help guide our club forward.”

English Turn is named after the historic bend on the Mississippi River where the founders of New Orleans duped English settlers in claiming it was already under French control. The semi-private club, fresh off celebrating its 30th anniversary, has been serving the local community as an unrivaled environment to enjoy a round of golf or celebrate a special event.

Opening in 1988, The Signature Course at English Turn meanders through surrounding lakes and the bayou until reaching its magnificent plantation-style clubhouse. The Jack Nicklaus-designed par-72 championship course was originally designed for the local PGA TOUR event, which was held at the facility from 1989 — 2004 and in 2006 following Hurricane Katrina. In 2019, English Turn was ranked No. 4 in Golfweek’s “Best Courses You Can Play in Louisiana.”

“We are thrilled to begin working with such a storied club and helping their team maximize its potential,” says Peter Hill, CEO and Executive Chairman of Billy Casper Golf. “By providing pristine conditions, outstanding service and programs for golfers and event planners, we look forward to welcoming the local community back to the Turn.”

In 2019, Billy Casper Golf celebrated its 30th anniversary. English Turn Golf and Country Club joins Copper Mill Golf Club and The Island – Golf & Country Club as the third BCG-managed course in The Pelican State.
