Honours Golf Co. beefed upits southern Alabama cluster of courses this month with the purchase of the 36-hole Craft Farms Golf Resort in Gulf Shores.
Craft Farms’ two courses — Cotton Creek Golf Club and Cypress Bend Golf Course — both are Arnold Palmer Signature designs that opened in 1987.
Honours Golf currently owns and manages two other golf courses in the area: Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club in Gulf Shores and Rock Creek Golf Club in Fairhope.
Craft Farms will be the thirteenth golf facility owned or managed by Honours Golf.
The courses were built by R.C. Craft and the Craft family, who operated a sod farm on a portion of the property. It was part of a plan to promote the areas as a golf destination resort.
The deal includes the Cotton Creek clubhouse, a 20,000-square-foot building that features a dining room, grill and lounge, along with a 2,000-square-foot meeting room.
In addition to golf and swimming facilities, there are on-site condominiums and a 90-room Courtyard by Marriott hotel.
