Green Golf Partners adds two Iowa courses

Green Golf Partners (GGP), a golf course management and development company, has agreed to manage two Iowa courses: Briarwood Club of Ankeny and Fox Ridge Golf Club.

It signed a lease agreement with Briarwood Club of Ankeny to assume operating management of the golf course and all aspects of the club. The five-year lease agreement is effective Dec. 1, 2015. Voyager will maintain its ownership of the club.

"We are incredibly excited for the Club, our membership and employees and the greater Ankeny community by the extensive expertise, new capabilities and significant resources that Green Golf Partners brings to Briarwood Club of Ankeny," said Brad Cook, CEO of Voyager. "We are confident that this new relationship will ensure that Briarwood Club achieves all of its promise."

Briarwood Club of Ankeny is a 7,000-yard, 18-hole, private championship course designed in 1995 by Gordon Cunningham that features bent grass fairways and four sets of tees. Considered one of the top golf courses in the Midwest, it's known for a layout that is both challenging and enjoyable for golfers of all abilities. It has hosted several prestigious tournaments, including the Iowa Open and the U.S. Amateur Regional Qualifying tournament.

"Our company is honored to be part of Briarwood Club of Ankeny, one of the most promising private golf and social clubs in the greater Des Moines area as well as all of Iowa," said Matt McIntee, CEO of Green Golf Partners. "We look forward to working with Voyager to promote the continued growth and success of the club over the next several years."

It also signed a five-year agreement with Fox Ridge Golf Club in Dike, Iowa to manage the privately owned public facility, effective December 7, 2015. Fox Ridge Golf Club is owned and operated by Dr. Steve and Nancy Menke and their son Mike, who is also the golf professional at the course.

The 6,809-yard, par 72 course at Fox Ridge Golf Club was designed by Dennis Krueger and opened as a nine-hole course in 1998, expanding to 18 holes in 2001. It is the only course within 20 miles with bentgrass tees and low-mown, bluegrass fairways and one of only three courses in Iowa with USGA-approved, high quality sand in its 37 sand traps.

"We are excited to have the opportunity to work with the Menke family in the management of the only privately owned public golf course in the western Cedar Falls/Waterloo area," said Matt McIntee, CEO of Green Golf Partners. "Mike Menke has done a superior job making Fox Ridge Golf Club a premier and pleasurable experience for golfers of all ages and abilities. We look forward to utilizing our industry expertise to helping Mike take Fox Ridge to the next level."
