BCG promotes Wilson to dir. of ops

Billy Casper Golf — the third largest golf management company in the U.S. and fifth largest in the world — has promoted Matt Wilson to director of operations for the company's private club division.

Wilson will oversee business planning, budgeting, team leadership and training, revenue and expense management and client relations. Based in Jupiter, Fla., he will liaise with regional operations, sales, marketing, hospitality and agronomy teams, as well as BCG headquarters, to work towards greater member acquisition, club usage, profitability and company presence within the private club sector.

Wilson, a PGA member, joined BCG in 2011 as General Manager of Eastpointe Country Club. He specializes in creating new-age membership programs, improving clubhouse environments and strengthening member loyalties.

"BCG's lifestyle-focused platform is the most proactive and powerful in golf, leisure and hospitality," Wilson said in a news release. "Our teams excel in developing winning strategies for all types of clubs, molding them into 'must-join' social hubs at the hearts of communities across America."

BCG has increased dues and total income by 33 percent, and reduced losses by hundreds of thousands of dollars.

"Matt Wilson will take BCG Private to new heights," BCG Senior Vice President Frank Denniston stated in the release. “He is a decisive leader who inspires our teams to enhance all facets of club operations from golf to tennis, fitness, dining and everything between."

In the past, Wilson has served as general manager of two Toll Brothers facilities: Parkland Golf & Country Club and Jupiter Country Club.

Founded more than 25 years ago with the late golf legend Billy Casper, the company is the one of the largest owner-operators of private, public, resort and residential golf properties in the U.S. with more than 150 facilities in 29 states. Its 18-hole equivalent course count is 154.5.
