Willow Hill GC sold

Willow Hill Golf Course in Northbrook, Ill. sold this week for an undisclosed amount, according to Chris Charnas, principal of Links Capital Advisors, Inc., who brokered the sale.

Angelo Di Paolo of Di Paolo Co., a local construction company and the original developer, purchased the golf course from a private estate. The new owner will put capital toward new pumps, equipment and improvements to the clubhouse, Charnas said.

Willow Hill Golf Course is a Scottish links-style 9-hole, par-35 course with views of the Chicago skyline. The Dick Nugent-design first opened in 1995 on the site of a former landfill.

The 87-acre facility also features a 40-station all grass driving range, 100-yard short game practice area, golf academy and on-site golf pro shop.

“It’s got the best view of any course in the Chicago area,” Charnas said. “It traditionally has one of the best junior golf programs in the area.”
