The world’s largest golf course management firm continues to expand its global reach, finalizing a deal to manage its first property in Turkey.
Troon Golf has been selected to operate Belek Golf Club, which will include a course designed by Spanish star Jose Maria Olazabal scheduled for completion in 2011. The club will offer a 50,000-square-foot clubhouse with golf shop, two restaurants, meeting rooms, private dining, locker rooms and an events terrace.
The Belek region of Turkey is viewed as a rapidly developing tourist destination region, Troon officials said. It has 17 golf courses and a number of four- and five-star hotels and entertainment venues.
The Belek Golf Club development will include a luxury hotel and residential units, along with spa and fitness facilities, two pools, a beach club and a retail center.
It is designed around a Mediterranean village environment that will appeal to pedestrians and feature additional dining and shopping options for guests.
