JC Golf, the San Diego-based management company, added Avondale Golf Club in Palm Desert to its portfolio, taking over management of the course in November. The company now manages nine courses in Southern California.
“This is our first property in Coachella Valley and it’s a private club that has great potential for improvements,” said John McNair, Vice President of Golf Operations for JC Golf. “We’ve already added 16 new memberships and we’re excited about having more in the queue that are looking to close this month.”
JC Golf has been recognized as having award-winning food and beverage services, and has already overhauled the services at Avondale. While McNair didn’t want to reveal too much about the changes coming to Avondale, he did note that it all comes down to hands-on management.
“We’ve got a very good board that we work for and we’re focused on meeting and exceeding their expectations,” he said. “When that happens I think there will be even more opportunities for us, because of the success at Avondale.”
Avondale was one of the first private clubs in the Palm Desert when it opened in 1969. The 6,782-yard, par 72 course was designed by Jimmy Hines. It also features extensive practice facilities, newly renovated locker rooms and a spacious dining room for events.
In addition to Avondale Golf Club, JC Golf properties include Rancho Bernardo Inn, Twin Oaks Golf Course, Temecula Creek Inn, Encinitas Ranch, Reidy Creek Golf Course, Oaks North and 12 Shores Golf Club.
