Who are the courses, developers and companies around the globe leading the way in promoting environmental sustainability in the golf industry? Which operators and associations are putting their money where their mouths are when it comes to commitment to environmentally friendly practices?
Golf Inc. is looking to recognize those forward-thinking companies and course owners with the launch of the second annual Golf Inc. Green Awards competition. The Green Awards are designed to recognize courses and companies around the globe that have taken concrete steps to embrace the most innovative, technologically advanced and cost-effective practices for achieving those goals.
The contest will be open not only to new and existing golf courses and golf community developments but also to companies involved in the business of golf.
Starting in August, Golf Inc. will honor five recipients with the awards. The courses and developments will be chosen on the basis of their outstanding and innovative programs and practices that protect and preserve the environment.
Winners will be selected by a panel of expert judges who are involved in various aspects of the environmental field.
Entrants will be asked to submit detailed information about their efforts, providing evidence of the impact of those efforts, both practically and fiscally, and documenting positive effects on the environment.
Those interested in submitting an entry for the Golf Inc. Green Awards can obtain an entry form by e-mailing Managing Editor Keith Carter, keith@cypressmagazines.com, or by calling 858-300-3207.
Entry deadline is July 25, 2009. There is no entry fee.
