Oregon's Tetherow Golf Club bought by partnership

Tetherow Golf Club in Bend, Ore., has been acquired by the joint venture partnership of Willem Willemstein and Bend area resident Chris van der Velde.

The two purchased the David McLay Kidd-designed golf course, clubhouse and practice facility, while the surrounding residential community will continue to be developed and built out by Eugene, Ore.-based Spring Capital Group, Proterra, LLC and Arrowood of Bend.

Willemstein is a Netherlands-based investor with extensive background in the brokerage, banking and petroleum industries in the Netherlands. His investment partner, van der Velde, has an extensive golf background, including his previous position as director of golf development for Arrowood Development, a decade-long career on the European Tour, and service as the head coach of the Dutch men’s national golf team.

Van der Velde said there will be no changes in the resort’s current membership or resort guest privilege operations. Tetherow is managed by OB Sports Golf Management.
