Louisiana course closed, on market for $6.5 million

The Bluffs on Thompson Creek in St. Francisville, La., one of the state’s most prestigious golf club and resort properties, has closed.
Owner/developer Jim Tanner of Baton Rouge has listed the private club and its Arnold Palmer-designed course for $6.5 million.
The club, which opened in 1988, was converted from a semi-private facility to a private club in February 2008. The club’s members are reportedly exploring the feasibility of purchasing the club from Tanner.
The facility also includes swimming pools and a fitness center.
