Chicago-area club purchased for $3.5 million

Dr. Claude Gendreau, a Chicago-area veterinarian, has purchased the formerly private Ravislow Country Club in Homewood, Ill., for a price reported to be around $3.5 million.

The financially troubled club, which had less than 50 members, had been listed for $4.95 million.

Gendreau announced that the club would be open to the public as of April 1, under the management of Northlake, Ill.-based GolfVisions Management Inc. GolfVisions’ Tim Miles told Crain’s Chicago Business that fees would be $49 walking and $65 with a cart during the week, and $85 with cart on the weekend.

The Ravisloe course counts Donald Ross among the designers who have worked on the course. The course was renovated under the direction of designer David Esler in 2001.
