World Golf Foundation to host International Symposium

The World Golf Foundation and Golf Inc. are pleased to announce that the World Golf Foundation will present an International Symposium during the Spring Golf Inc. Conference at World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Fla., on Wednesday, April 1.

The special presentation will feature a number of international golf luminaries, including Gary Player, Steve Mona, CEO of the World Golf Foundation, Joe Louis Barrow, CEO of The First Tee, U. Balasubramaniam, President of Dubai Sports City and Jeremy Slessor, Managing Director of European Golf Design, among others. Panel members will discuss a number of important developments in the global golf industry.

The Symposium will take place immediately following the final educational session of the three-day Golf Inc. Conference, beginning at 1 p.m. Wednesday with a special invitation-only luncheon at the Renaissance World Golf Village conference site. Other Golf Inc. Conference attendees will be welcome to join the Symposium discussion audience beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Issues to be discussed include perspectives on worldwide golf development from Player, Balasubramaniam and Slessor; an update on the international expansion of The First Tee from Barrow; and an overview of the effort to include golf as an Olympic sport in the 2016 Games from PGA Tour Executive Vice President Ty Votaw and Mona.
