Ukraine: Nation's first golf facility planned

Santa Rosa, Calif-based golf course architecture firm Golfplan – Fream, Dale & Ramsey will break ground  next spring on Ukraine’s first-ever golf course development.

The course will sit along the shores on Doboletsky Island in Kiev.

The golf course is just one aspect of an ambitious plan proposed by local developer Dnipro Plaza. The project also includes a five-star hotel, up to 40 residential villas, recreational space and a large retail component.

Sorry this article is not correct! Kiev Golf Club opened nine holes this past summer with another 27 under construction to be opened 2009. There are at least two other projects under construction in the Kiev area whilst a nine-hole course in the east of the country has been operating for at least one year.
