Annika Sorrenstam, representing IMG’s Golf Course Services Division, will help design the 54-hole golf course in Subic Bay, the Philippines.
She recently finalized a deal with the Subic Neo Cove Corporation for the development project. The golf course is part of a planned, $250 million (U.S.) sports, leisure and entertainment facility. The property, in Barangay Cawag, Subic in Zambales, will be spread over 1,100 acres of beachfront on the bay.
Sorrenstam, who has competed in more than 90 international tournaments, looks to golf course design to expand her career. “My goal is to design courses that golfers of any age, gender or skill level can enjoy equally,” she said.
The development has garnered support from international interests, including investments from the Philippines, Korea and the international IMG Golf Course Services.
