Developer Slavomir Pavle recently unveiled plans for a Scottish-style golf course near the village of Sebedrazie, near Prievidza, Slovakia.
The course, which will be a minimalist design in the Scottish tradition utilizing limited landscaping and earthmoving, will be part of a complex that includes an existing Water-World recreational facility.
The course will be built on land next to the site of the CigeA Mine, on community land leased for 99 years. Slovak golf architect Peter Gal created the initial master plan for the project, and Gal’s design has been adapted for the final plan by Scottish architect Tom Mackenzie.
The course construction is budgeted at €10 million. Plans call for a training driving range and a six-hole golf academy to be built later this year, with the academy going into full operation in 2010. Future plans include an additional 9-hole course.
