John Sanford, a veteran of course design in Egypt, has teamed with Nicklaus Design to design the 27-hole Palm Hills facility just outside Cairo.
The project, which will be the largest golf facility in Egypt, will be Nicklaus Design’s first course design in the country.
The facility, which will also include a Sanford-designed practice area and 9-hole short course, will offer views of the Great Pyramids of Giza on at least 13 of the 27 holes. The course is currently under construction and is scheduled to open in the summer of 2010.
In addition to the golf, the project will include The Club-Golf Spa and Resort, which will incorporate a five-star hotel managed by Ritz Carlton.
