The second Jack Nicklaus Signature course in the exclusive private Punta Mita development north of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, is scheduled to open Nov. 16.
The course, known as Punta Mita Bahia, will join the 1999 vintage Punta Mita Pacifico, with both courses open exclusively to Punta Mita homeowners, renters or resort guests at the new St. Regis Punta Mita Resort or the Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita.
The new Bahia course features five oceanfront holes and two others with ocean views of the Pacific and Banderas Bay. The original Pacifico course offers an alternate par-3 hole which is reputed to be the only natural ocean island hole in the world. Known as Tail of the Whale, the hole is only accessible at low tide.
Punta Mita is being developed by DINE, a leading Mexican residential and resort developer. In addition to the two resort hotels, it offers private villas and condos for rent or sale, as well as a tennis center, beach club and other luxury amenities.
