Mexico: Hills/Forrest design to open at Paraiso del Mar

Mexico’s first Arthur Hills-designed golf course will open for play this December as the centerpiece of Paraiso del Mar, a new 1,700-acre residential and resort community surrounded by the Sea of Cortez in the town of La Paz, Baja California Sur.

Design of the 7,100-yard, par-72 course was directed and overseen by Brian Yoder, principal in the renowned golf course architecture firm Arthur Hills/Steve Forrest and Associates. Memberships will be sold to Paraiso del Mar homeowners.

In addition to approximately 300 single-family homes and more than 400 condominiums, the first phase of the resort community will feature a variety of swimming pools, tennis courts, private beaches, hiking trails and a marina. Home prices are expected to range from the low $200,000s to more than $1 million.

Paraiso del Mar is the latest venture of developers John Fair and Luis Cano. Colorado-based Fair manages more than $300 million worth of development projects in the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean, including Esperanza in Cabo San Lucas and the Grace Bay Club in Turks & Caicos.
