Aspotogan Developments Ltd. has begun construction on a multi-phase residential and golf course development project at Mill Cove, located in the municipality of Chester not far from Halifax in Nova Scotia.
The course is being designed by Robert LeBlanc of Dartmouth, described as both an architect and an environmentalist. Aspotogan Developments, headed by Barry Publicover, president of Future Design Builders Ltd., and M.J. (Mike) Hollihan, president of Bayview Realty Ltd., plans to create a four-season lifestyle community offering not only golf, water sports and hiking trails in the summer, but also cross-country ski trails.
The developers project that it will take eight to 10 years to complete the community build-out. The golf course, with an anticipated construction cost of $8 to $10 million, is already under construction, with nine holes planned to open in 2010 and the full 18 by 2011. Lots, selling at $75,000 to $85,000, come with two golf course memberships.
