India: Residential development to include 18-hole course

An 18-hole golf course will be constructed as part of the new Kovai Hills residential community in Coimbatore.

Designed by David Hemstock, the 215-acre course will include a 9-hole executive course, the longest driving range in south India, a golf academy and a new clubhouse.

A joint development between Rakindo Developers Ltd. and Tulip Buildinfra Ltd., Kovia Hills is a 1,000-acre community that will also include schools, a hospital, a hotel and a wellness center. Developers expect the community to be completed by the end of 2008.
