Preliminary plans are in place for Woolsington Hall in Newcastle to be converted into a 30-bedroom boutique hotel and an 18-hole golf course.
Additional amenities including a restaurant and meeting rooms are also planned. The project is expected to cost between £8 and £10 million.
The 17th century hall, which recently underwent a £370,000-pound renovation, has been the property of real-estate tycoon Sir John Hall and his company Cameron Hall Developments since 1994. Hall is said to be reviewing the proposals of at least three project architects. No time frame has been set for construction.
