Dubai: Tiger Woods Dubai first phase on track

The initial phase of The Tiger Woods Dubai, the golfing icon’s first privately designed course, is on track to be completed in early 2009. The phase consists of the Al Ruwaya, an 18-hole, par-72 golf course, as well as a Tiger Woods golf academy.

The total $1.1 billion project in Dubailand by developer Tatweer in conjunction with Woods will also include a luxury boutique hotel, a restaurant run by top French chef Guy Savoy and a vast residential component. Developers expect the project to be completed at some point in 2009.

Tatweer will closely monitor the success of The Tiger Woods Dubai to determine the feasibility of developing similar projects in other nations.
