February 4, 2010
Rating:
The City of Dallas hired Colligan Golf Design to give Stevens Park Golf Course a $7 million facelift, the Dallas Morning News reported Feb. 5.
Built in 1922, the course has used the same green complexes for 88 years.
Renovation will start in November, with plans to re-route 14 holes, add new greens, tees, bridges and an irrigation system. Architect John Colligan plans to add 250 yards to the current 6,005.
The renovation will bring out topographic features and highlight views of downtown Dallas, Colligan told the Dallas Morning News.
Colligan has renovated other classic layouts, including Shady Oaks and River Crest in Forth Worth, and Brackenridge Park in San Antonio.
