Plans have been drafted for The Normanby Golf Club in Lincolnshire to undergo a major renovation as part of an ambitious development project aimed at transforming the country park Normanby Hall into one of the top sports centers in Great Britain.
Development group Investorin Ltd. is expected to formally submit plans for the project.
If approved, Normandy Golf Club would see its clubhouse refurbished, its course completely rebuilt and its grounds augmented with a new fitness center. Two video swing analysis rooms and extensive practice facilities would also be added.
Non-golf related aspects of the proposal call for construction of world-class fishing, rowing, archery, shooting and cycling facilities, as well as development of a new hotel and spa. The entire Normanby Hall estate spans 350 acres, though Investorin has yet to determine precisely how much of that land would be used.
If the North Lincolnshire Council approves the plans this spring as expected, Investorin officials said the entire project could be completed by the summer of 2010.
