The Arizona Grand Resort in Phoenix recently completed the final stage of a $52 million redevelopment project.
Centerpiece of the renovation was a new 25,000-square-foot lobby facility. Two new dining venues are included in the new building, The Lobby Grill and The Lobby Bar.
Managing Director Richard Behr said the new lobby building was designed to provide a residential feel. It also houses the golf pro shop, a café and resort retail shops in addition to a lounge area and concierge desk. A new patio area features couches and fire pits overlooking the first tee of the golf course.
The Grossman Co. Properties, which purchased the property adjacent to the South Mountain Preserve three years ago, launched the overall redevelopment project in 2007 with exterior and landscaping improvements.
In 2008, all 640 guest suites on the property were renovated and 100 luxury residential-style accommodations were added. As part of that phase of the overall project, the golf course was redesigned and additions were made to the existing spa and athletic club as well as to the on-site restaurants.
In addition to the Forrest Richardson-designed course, the Arizona Grand Resort includes the seven-acre Oasis Water Park.
