Troon takes over Tiburón Golf Club

Troon will take over management of Tiburón Golf Club in Naples, Fla., a semi-private club with 260 members. The club is owned by WCI Communities, which also owns the community.

Tiburón features two 18-hole, Greg Norman-designed golf courses, the Gold and the Black, and is home to the PGA Tour’s Franklin Templeton Shootout and the LPGA Tour’s CME Group Tour Championship.

The club sits adjacent a 295-room Ritz Carlton Golf Resort, and a 450-room Ritz Carlton Beach Resort is a few miles away. Both hotels have preferred access to the golf courses.

Tiburón has a  27,000-sq. ft. Mediterranean-style clubhouse that features three dining rooms. The courses opened in 1998 and 2001.

“The opportunity to manage a tremendous property such as Tiburón is very exciting,” said Mike Ryan, division president, Troon. “Our Troon management team will now look to further elevate Tiburón in the areas of agronomy, club operations, marketing and food and beverage operations. We are confident that our management practices and dedication to outstanding service will make an already exceptional property even better.”
