A private club in Alabama is operating under new management. Troon Privé, the private operating division of Troon will oversee golf, club, food & beverage operations, as well golf course agronomy and membership marketing at Old Overton Club in Vestavia Hilla, a suburb of Birmingham.

“We are very pleased to have partnered with Troon for the daily operations of our club,” Board President Mike Tracy said. “We are excited about the course renovations that have been done and look forward to future upgrades to the property. We know that Troon is the right choice to take us to the next level in the member experience.”

Old Overton Club is an 18-hole course that was established in 1993. The Jerry Pate and Tom Fazio design is described as “being cut from the rocky terrain to transcend its surroundings.”

The clubhouse is 25,000-square feet and has fine and casual dining options. In addition the club has nine tennis courts and an outdoor pool.

“We are thrilled to have been selected to manage operations at Old Overton Club. This club has always been held in high regard, not only within this area, but all over the country, receiving accolades as one of the best private courses in Alabama,”  said Matt Hurley, president of Honours Golf, the Birmingham-based division of Troon. “Our goal will be to elevate the member and guest experience even further and enjoy this new partnership well into the future.”
