Two Critical Issues Forums in which speakers will offer solutions to the most significant challenges facing golf operators today will be among the key events at the Fall Golf Inc. Conference held Sept. 29-Oct. 1 at the Camelback Inn & Resort in Scottsdale, Ariz. The first Critical Issues Forum, on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 4:15 p.m., will tackle the subject of rising costs. Panel members will include Jeff Silverstein, president of I.R.I. Golf Group, John Crowder, director of business development for ValleyCrest Golf Course Maintenance, and Don Rea, president of Your Source Golf. Crowder also will moderate a second Critical Issues Forum, “Solving the Water Crisis-Best Practices,” Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 11:30 a.m. Charlie Birney, president of the National Golf Course Owners Association, also will participate. “These forums are our way of allowing golf course owners and operators to share in the insights of some of the industry’s most successful entrepreneurs,” said Chase Peckham, associate publisher. “At a time when many courses are struggling for answers to rising costs and water supply issues, we are striving to provide them with the tools they need to be successful as well.” The Golf Inc. Conference, which has become one of the industry’s most highly regarded events, offers attendees 33 educational sessions with more than 100 speakers, six networking events and a 40-booth exhibit hall. A special feature will be two afternoonlong pre-conference events on Monday, Sept. 29. The Private Club Symposium will offer insider tips for private club operators from noon to 5:30 p.m. and the American Society of Golf Course Architects will offer the Remodeling University 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
