Scott Beasley has left Meadowbrook Golf and has started a new company, WSB Resorts & Clubs, which will manage Lajitas Golf Resort and Spa in Lajitas, Texas. Beasley was vice president of operations at Meadowbrook since 2007. Beasley took over the contract for Lajitas while at Meadowbrook, managing the entire town. He is now looking for additional management contracts.
• Mike Loustalot has been named President and Director of Digital Caddies, Inc., a 10-year-old, golf technology company based in Scottsdale. Prior to joining Digital Caddies, Loustalot was Vice President of Sales & Strategic Partnerships for GolfNow, a subsidiary of Golf Channel. Prior to GolfNow, Loustalot was Executive Vice President of Sales for Cypress Golf Solutions (the founding company to GolfNow), which provides management and marketing services to course owners and operators, marketing partners and affiliates, golfers and advertisers. Digital Caddies provides GPS services to courses through tablets.
• KemperSports promoted Mike Williams to Regional Operations Executive, and named Randy Farber as General Manager of Bolingbrook Golf Club in Bolingbrook, Ill. Williams had served as General Manager of Bolingbrook Golf Club since 2009. Following Williams’ promotion, KemperSports announced that Randy Farber would fill the open General Manager position at Bolingbrook.
Williams joined KemperSports in 2005 as assistant general manager at Bolingbrook. Farber previously served as General Manager at Highland Park Country Club. Farber now returns to Bolingbrook Golf Club where he served as the Director of Food and Beverage from 2008-2012.
• Kitson & Partners promoted Ron Wonderling to the position of Regional Vice President – Golf Operations. Wonderling, who joined K&P in 2002, will support the on-site management teams and oversee operations at client facilities throughout Florida.
• Ken Cooper was appointed as the new chairman of Braemar Golf, following the retirement of founder David Dean. Cooper will serve as Chairman for a two-year period. He was previously a silent partner in the business and has a long track record in the corporate sector having successfully run several companies through acquisition and growth.
• Golf Academy of America named jim Hart as its new president. Previous president Mike Largent will continue to serve in an executive role for Education Corporation of America, whose educational properties include Golf Academy of Americ, the Culinary Institute of Virginia College and New England College of Business and Finance. Hart joined ECA in 2008 as campus director of GAA’s Myrtle Beach campus and will continue in that position while serving as GAA president.
• Billy Casper Golf promoted Jesse Seguin to Regional Director of Agronomy covering the western United States. Seguin will assume greater responsibility in client relations, team leadership, budgeting and business planning. Seguin joined BCG in 2002 as an assistant superintendent and was most recently Western Regional Superintendent, overseeing BCG properties in California, Washington and Arizona.
• Affiniti Golf Partners named Nick Short as general manager for Crystal Lake Country & Country Club in Hampton, Ga. Short comes to Crystal Lake from another Affiniti Golf-managed property, Patriots Point Links in Mt. Pleasant, S.C., where he served as general manager for the last four years.
• Eagle Golf promoted Ann Lund to the position of General Manager of Clear Creek Golf Club in Houston. She had been assistant general manager at the club since 2010.
• National Golf Management appointed Michael Burnside as head golf professional at both Long Bay Club and Aberdeen Country Club. Burnside had been head golf professional at Myrtle Beach National Golf Club since 2001.
