Landscapes adds Max A. Mandel Muni GC

The City of Laredo, Tex. and the Max A. Mandel Municipal Golf Course, designed by architect Robert Trent Jones, Jr., have selected Landscapes Management  Company as its operator and management company. Landscapes Management  Company, a division of Landscapes Unlimited, will oversee the municipal facility’s day- to-day operations.

The public facility features an 18-hole, par-72 golf course, measuring 6,500 yards from the longest tees. Green fees range from $33.50 to $56, with discounted rates for senior and junior golfers.

"The MAX offers our company a chance to return, albeit in a different capacity, to a course that we built in 2012. We look forward to employing our revenue building strategies as well as providing an excellent golfing experience," said Tom Everett, president of Landscapes Management Company, in a news release. 

The Lincoln, Neb.-based company was selected from several proposals in an open bidding process. After discussion with the City Council, the contract was awarded in May with a timeline transition set to have taken effect on June 1, though the public announcement was not made until mid-July

The MAX is the pride of the City of Laredo and we want golfers to come and experience the finest golf on the Rio Grande."

Landscapes Management Company, a division of Landscapes Unlimited, is part of one of the world's largest golf course development and construction companies, responsible for the construction and renovation of more than 1,200 golf courses. Landscapes Management Company is the 16th largest golf management company in the world with a portfolio of 36.5 18-hole equivalent courses.
