Jaworski buys Blue Heron Pines Golf Club; Troon adds two properties; IMG and Dunes Golf Form Alliance

Ron Jaworski, former quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, is the new owner of Blue Heron Pines Golf Club in Egg Harbor City, N.J.

His company, Ron Jaworski Golf, purchased the course from Textron Financial Corp., for an undisclosed amount. Blue Heron Pines, which first opened in 1993 and designed by architect Stephen Kay, was named one of the Top 50 public courses nationwide in a 2010 survey published in GolfWorld Magazine.

Ron Jaworski Golf has owned golf courses in Pennsylvania and New Jersey for more than 30 years, including: Running Deer Golf Club, Valley Brook Country Club and RiverWinds Golf and Tennis Club.

Troon selected to manage two courses
Troon was selected to manage two courses — The Resort at Tapatio Springs in Texas, and Five Oaks Golf & Country Club in Lebanon, Tenn.

Country music legend George Strait and his business partner Tom Cusick acquired Tapatio Springs this past year from Textron Financial.

It features 27 holes and is located in Boerne, Texas roughly 30 miles from downtown San Antonio. Five Oaks is just 30 minutes from downtown Nashville, and is a private 18-hole club that opened in 2001. 

IMG and Dunes Golf Form Alliance
IMG Golf Course Management and Dunes Golf have formed a strategic alliance to provide value to their respective businesses in Korea and the Asia Pacific region. 

IMG will provide consulting management services to Sunwoon Mountain CC, a golf course in Gochang, North Jeolla Province, Korea acquired by Dunes Golf.  These services from IMG will include such areas as golf operations, sales and marketing and golf course maintenance.

Dunes Golf, a wholly owned subsidiary of Golfzon, will provide management consulting services to IMG in order to attract Korean members and guests to its network of 15 golf clubs under IMG management in the Asia Pacific region including Nirwana Bali Golf Club in Indonesia and Red Flag Valley Golf Club in China. These services will include golf operations and sales and marketing strategies.

Braemar Golf continues management at PGA National Russia
Braemar Golf signed an extended agreement to resume management at Golf Club Zavidovo PGA National Russia. Braemar Golf has overseen the construction management of the course and the pre-opening of the facility over the past 2 years.

Golf Club Zavidovo PGA National Russia, located roughly 60 miles northwest of Moscow, is scheduled to open the first nine holes in mid to late June and will open all 18 holes on September 7th, 2012. The 7,400-yard course was designed by European Golf Design and is Russia's first golf course to bear the PGA National brand.

Royal Drottningholm Golf Club reopens
The Royal Drottningholm Golf Club, a Swedish course, celebrated its grand reopening following a restoration project by Swedish-based Benestam Golf Course Design.

The 18-month project started in 2007 and included restoration of the greens, fairways, fairway bunkers, and improved the drainage and irrigation systems.  Located just outside of Stockholm and nearby the Royal Residence of Drottningholm Castle, the course will serve as the site of the 2012 Swedish Seniors Open.
