Heideman named GM of Blackstone CC

Scott Heideman has been named general manager of Blackstone Country Club at Vistancia, located within the 7,100-acre master planned community of Vistancia in Peoria, Arizona.

Heideman comes to Blackstone Country Club from a long career with Troon Golf where he spent the past 25 years in golf operations and management. He began his career at Troon North Golf Club as head professional and director of golf. In 1997, Heideman opened the Talking Stick Golf Club in Scottsdale as the general manager/area managing director of the upscale 36-hole facility, overseeing golf operations, food and beverage and agronomy staff.  He has also served as general manager/operations and transitions for Troon’s corporate management team and served as the interim general manager of six golf courses managed by Troon Golf.

He is a 21-year Class A member of The PGA of America and Troon Golf certified instructor and served as the chairperson for the Talking Stick Board of Directors representing the enterprise for the SRPMIC Indian Community.

“We’re especially pleased to have Scott Heideman join Blackstone Country Club and know that we will benefit greatly from his Troon experience aligned with our management partner of Troon Privé, the world’s leader in third-party golf management and development,” said Mark Hammons vice president/general manager of Vistancia, in a news release.

Heideman will be responsible for the management and day-to-day operations of the private Blackstone Country Club at Vistancia, which features an award-winning golf course designed by Jim Enghd. It also has an expansive 30,000-square-foot Hacienda-style clubhouse with a 24-hour, 3,000-square-foot fitness center, casual and fine dining, three resort-style pools with a childrens’ play area, lighted tennis courts and member events and services.

“Blackstone Country Club is the crown jewel of the West Valley and I am truly honored to serve as a leader for this exclusive and private country club,” Heideman said in a news release.

Blackstone Country Club sits in the Sonoran Mountains amidst a vast desert landscape of Saguaro cacti, Palo Verde trees and mountain formations, featuring a series of black volcanic stones dotted along its desert golf course.

Member activities are offered year-round, including golf tournaments, gourmet wine dinners, cooking classes, junior golf, swim instruction, personal and group fitness programs, dining events, stargazing, holiday gatherings and kids’ camps.

Troon Privé, the private club division of Troon, is the manager of Blackstone Country Club. Troon, the world’s largest management company, currently provides full-service management and consulting services to more than 250 golf courses in 36 states and 28 countries.
