GolfNow and 18Birdies announced a strategic partnership in late May, making GolfNow the preferred tee-time provider for 18Birdies’ mobile golf platform. The partnership will showcase golf courses within GolfNow’s online tee-time marketplace to 18Birdies’ growing user base of more than 950,000 golfers, providing easy access to book tee times at more than 8,000 courses worldwide.
GolfNow is building partnerships across a global industry to strengthen technology offerings to better serve golfers and golf courses. GolfNow also announced partnerships with ChronoGolf and GolfBook.
“18Birdies is one of the most innovative technology companies in the golf industry,” said Will McIntosh, executive vice president, Strategy, Golf Channel. “Our companies have a shared passion for connecting golfers to the game, and this partnership helps our golf course partners grow their businesses via exposure within the 18Birdies platform and by helping the 18Birdies community of golfers discover and book tee times with ease.”
Since launching in 2016, 18Birdies is the fastest-growing golf utility app. Its wide range of features includes a GPS rangefinder for more than 35,000 courses, score, round, side-games and stat tracking, a variety of golf content and social sharing. The app also features a one-of-a-kind rewards program, DreamGames, which rewards golfers every day for playing golf.
“Partnering with GolfNow enables us to provide significant value to our golf community,” said Eddy Lui, founder and CEO of 18Birdies. “In addition to great features inside the 18Birdies app, providing tee time reservations to our community members greatly improves our user experience.”
Chronogolf will now sync with GolfNow’s website and mobile app. ChronoGolf is available in multiple languages, which GolfNow hopes will help it expands its presence throughout Canada and Europe.
GolfNow’s multiyear partnership with tee-time booking platform GolfBook will allow for integration into the suite of GolfNow technology products.
“GolfNow always is looking for new and innovative ways to make it easier for golfers to play more often and help grow the game,” McIntosh said. “This partnership with GolfBook will assist us in that mission, as well as provide more visibility for the thousands of tee times our golf course partners offer every day.”
GolfBook will continue to have direct-integration access to the full line of GolfNow software packages, including GolfNow Connect, GolfNow Reservations, Open Course, as well as its newest cloud-based G1 technology, which can combine all software and operating systems utilized by a golf course facility into one platform. The partnership also allows GolfBook to sell all GolfNow golf course partners’ tee times by integrating the GolfNow marketplace into GolfBook’s web, mobile-web, and mobile-app technologies.
“We are thrilled to further our relationship with GolfNow and their full suite of tools,” said Gene Pizzolato, president and CEO of GolfBook. “GolfNow has been a great partner of ours in the past, and that relationship continues today and into the future. Selling the GolfNow marketplace tee times within the GolfBook platform is a natural progression for GolfBook as we help golfers activate their game with the support of CBS Sports Digital and provide the greatest golf-course tee times choices.”
