Former Sequoia execs launch Greenscapes Six

Industry veterans Mike Archer and Joey Taylor, who formerly served as executives at Sequoia Golf, have launched Greenscapes Six. The new company, based in Houston, Texas, will offer construction and maintenance services in six different sectors including golf courses, athletic fields, oil fields, landscaping, events and energy lighting.

The Greenscapes Six executive team has more than 35 years of combined experience in construction, renovation, maintenance and project management.  In the past decade, they have teamed up to complete over 400 projects in various markets.

“Our track record and client list of prestigious golf clubs, resorts, and athletic complexes continues to grow. Whether we’re working on a golf course, athletic field, or an oil field easement, we closely review every element of the project to ensure we’re maximizing our strengths and experience to help our clients reach their goals,” Principal Founder and Co-President Mike Archer said in a news release. “Our team has been working together in the golf industry for more than a decade and we are excited to utilize our agronomic and construction expertise into new sectors.”

Prior to forming Greenscapes Six in June 2015, Archer and Taylor were responsible for the in-house oversight of all major renovations, expansions and golf course capital improvement projects across more than 50 clubs owned and operated by Sequoia Golf Holdings, the second largest owner operator of private clubs in the golf industry prior to being purchased by ClubCorp for $265 million. During their time at Sequoia Golf, Archer and Taylor helped establish a construction division, offering its “in-house expertise and ownership mentality for the benefit of third-party clients.”
