J.D. Dockstader has been promoted to chief operating officer for the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA). He was previously elected chief business development officer in 2014.
Dockstader will have oversight of all business development and operating functions for the nearly 18,000-member national association. He came to GCSAA in January 2014 after spending the previous seven years as director of commercial facilities for the city of Mesa, Ariz.
“We recognize that business development has to be aligned with everything we do operationally. With his additional responsibilities, J.D. gives us a direct point of contact to ensure everything we do fits our business model going forward,” Rhett Evans said in a news release, GCSAA chief executive officer.
In addition to naming Dockstader as COO, Eileen Bangalan was promoted to senior director, business strategy. Bangalan will evaluate strategic objectives and assist department leaders in identifying and executing key initiatives. She joined GCSAA in 2009.
Headquarters in Lawrence, Kan., the association provides education, information and representation to nearly 18,000 members in more than 78 countries.
