Country Club in Georgia signs consulting agreement with PCA

Green Island County Club seeking help to implement results of its F&B survey

Private Club Associates (PCA) and Green Island Country Club in Columbus, Ga., have recently signed a one-year consulting agreement.

The agreement comes after the club’s board of directors asked PCA to design and administer a comprehensive membership survey and conduct an operations audit of the club’s extensive food and beverage operations. This new agreement will help implement the findings from the survey and audit.

“We were so pleased with PCA’s work, the quality of the survey and depth of their F&B audit findings, that our board unanimously felt we needed outside guidance to implement those recommendations. We also have asked PCA to conduct a similar operations audit across all the other departments of the club and they will work with the BOD and Management to implement and oversee improvements to our tools, processes and procedures over the course of the year” said Jim Culpepper, president of Green Island Country Club.

Green Island Country Club, founded in 1961, was the home of the Southern Open and features a classic George Cobb and Joe Lee designed golf course.  Today, in addition to golf, its members enjoy tennis, pickleball, swimming, fitness, and extensive dining and entertainment.

“Green Island Country Club is a very special place with a reputation for excellent food, a respected golf course and a storied history of renowned golf tournaments,” said Steve Paris, PCA’s designated partner for the assignment.. “It is a privilege for us to be asked to provide guidance for the club. We intend to help them to find the proper balance between the member experience and the financial performance of the club.”

PCA was founded in 1986 and provides customized club and golf management and consulting services.
