Members of Northwood Country Club in Lawrenceville, Georgia, were notified that the ClubCorp-owned club would be closing at the end of September.
But according to sources at ClubCorp, the notice indicates that with the pending sale of the course, it will be up to the new owners to decide what to do with the property, which led to the decision to end membership. The new owner could decide it does not want to be member-affiliated. ClubCorp won’t comment on who the property has been sold to since the sale is not final.
The notice to members will give them the opportunity to join another club in the meantime.
Northwood Country Club is considered the oldest club in Gwinnett County. It is situated on 220 acres.
