Billy Casper Golf launches BGC Ventures

Another day, another new service from Billy Casper Golf it seems. The Vienna, Va.-based owner/operator announced BCG Ventures, a varied collection of propriety initiatives.

“BCG Ventures drives engagement and profits through the creation, development and implementation of innovative programs, products and special events,” according to a press release.

Some one of those ventures include:

- Casper Labs: A think tank and testing ground for new products and services. Through Casper Labs, the management company has tested out trends like FootGolf and the GolfBoard before introducing them at its portfolio of more than 140-managed courses.

- World’s Largest Golf Outing: A record-breaking simultaneous event played at more than 110 courses nationwide to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. Starting in 2011, the event has attracted nearly 40,000 golf participants and raised more than $2 million for the origination, which benefits injured veterans an their families.

- Women on Course: A program  to attract beginner and advanced female golfers through networking, golf and speaking events. Membership increased 200 percent in 2014 as more than 2,000 annual golf and non-golf events entertain nearly 20,000 women in major markets.

“Focused on ‘new’ and ‘fun,’ innovation is in Billy Casper Golf’s DNA,” BCG Chairman and CEO Peter Hill said in a news release.  “Home to a high-level idea factory, our highly creative team pushes the envelope on modern management practices.”

As one of the largest owners and operators of golf courses and clubs in the country, it is estimated that Billy Casper Golf services reach one out of every eight golfers in America. 

“We have a responsibility to ensure the long-term vitality of this great game,” Hill said.

Founded more than 20 years ago in cooperation with the late golf legend Billy Casper, the company is the largest owner-operator of golf courses, country clubs and resorts in the U.S. with more than 150 properties in 29 states.
